[spotweb]Retrieve only last 7 days of spots?

#1

Bericht door john3voltas »

Hello.
I've finally found how to install spotweb with xampp. I've noticed that the program grabs the spots when I push the retrieve button. How can I tell spotweb to just keep the lastest 7 days of spots?
Cheers

Settings (/spotweb/?page=editsettings), retrieve, Retention on spots (in days). Older spots will be erased. Select 0 to keep all spots.
Set to 7

Hya :D
Well, I set that option to 7 a couple of hours ago (it just seemed plausible) but spotweb didn't care about it and it retrieved stuff from 3 years and 4 months ago...
I don't get it. Can you clarify that to me, please?
Thanks in advance :)
Cheers

There is another option: retrieve spots after (idk howwhat the english translation is).
You can pick a date.

That might do what you want?

If it doesnt: you'll only retrieve the older spots once so I guess you'll have to live with it if thats the case..

Thanks.
I'll try that and post here the results.
It's amazing how helpful this tool is and how small (at least apparently) it's English-speaking user base is.
I'm not mocking and I'm not ranting.
I'm just genuinely surprised because I was expecting to see thousands of English-speaking users here.
To whoever develops/maintains/supports spotweb: thank you very much :)
Cheers

You're welcome :)

Unfortunately a lot of users are dutch(-speaking) which causes a lot of the spots to be dutch, which makes it less accessible to the rest of the world.

Glad you like it anyhow.

Should you have PHP skills you can contribute to spotweb and help expanding it :D

I'm ok with Dutch spots.
When we refer to Dutch spots we're usually talking about movies and in that case they are the same as English spots except they carry Dutch subs along with the English audio.
Never seen any different Dutch spots so I honestly can't see any reason why people wouldn't like them.

I've got a couple of new questions:
- Is there any way we can stop spotweb instead of stopping apache/mysql?
- Is there anywhere where I can find a XML file with all the default filters? I accidentally deleted them yesterday and since I couldn't find them anywhere else I had to reinstall.
- Are there any other filters besides the default ones? Just curious ;)
- Are there any plugins that enhance spotweb like adding IMDB picture, IMDB rating, etc?
- Is there a youtube/vimeo/etc channel with videos on spotweb?

I'm sure I'll find some more questions in the next few days. For instance, I still don't understand how I am supposed to spot anything. I've seen there is a spotting button on the top right-corner of the screen but how does it work? Am I supposed to go down to binsearch.info and download anything that comes up on a popular group, check it's contents and report it using the spotting button on the top-right corner of spotweb?
Too many questions, right? Never mind. Thanks a bunch. :)
Cheers

A few answers:

- No, it doesnt run all the time actually. Apache/MySQL run all the time, spotweb only does stuff when you want to.
- You can reset to default filters, its the most left button in the preferences menu->filters, if you edited that, PM me.
- You can create filters using the search system. Just create a search query (which can contain language, categories, etc). Just click on the search bar and select use categories. After searching (be sure to SEARCH else it'll save nothing) press Save query as filter.
- There are some but it requires some technical skill. I'd be happy to help you out but that would be kinda hard using only the forums.
- When searching I can only find one youtube thingy. So kinda no :(

When you found a useful NZB you can add it to spotweb using the add spot button. Rule of thumb is: just use all the fields, its required anyway.

If you want to you can add me on skype for some more direct contact. PM me for the ID if you want to ;)
